Between 1944 and 1959, these two legends exchanged nearly 900 letters, revealing a side of their relationship that went beyond the public personas. The show brings their intimate, passionate exchanges to life—where love, longing, and creativity blend with daily life.
The illustration were inspired by a photograph of the pair. Transposing it into paper, in black and white over a dramatic red background, the aim was to capture the essence of their timeless connection, reflecting the theatrical intensity of their relationship. The style is more figurative yet deceptively simple, shaping the characters out of paper to closely resemble them while maintaining a sense of graphic simplicity and geometry.
